Bizagi vs Auraportal: Which is the Best?

Each customer has different needs, wants and deal breakers; just like each company is different and requires different things from a BPM system. With that in mind I have attempted to lay out in this article (as we have done in the articles above), key points which I think will be most important to prospective BPM buyers at the beginning of their journey.

If you would like an in-depth assessment as to much time and effort it takes to implement a BPM system, you should read this excellent article:

So let’s dive right in shall we? And look at Bizagi vs Auraportal.

Bizagi

The main selling points of Bizagi are:

  • It’s easy to use
  • Some of their offerings are free
  • Training options

The relatively unique pricing structure of this BPM supplier means that you can use their flowcharts and their Process Modeler for free. You will have to pay for the Bizagi Engine which powers and controls what you build in the Bizagi studio though.

The Process Modeler provides drag-and-drop simplicity and you might notice that their toolbar has been borrowed from Office – which should make regular Office Users feel at home.

Bizagi offers a good range of self-service training options, video support and online forums which will be appealing to those DIY Business Process Managers who would rather implement the solution themselves than spend the money outsourcing to professionals.

Possible Limitations

If you’re after something a bit more sophisticated, then Bizagi may not be the software for you. Since the market is saturated with BPM suppliers, if extensive functionality/technicality is your main buying point, you might want to look elsewhere.

 Auraportal

  • Advanced features
  • Flexible pricing options
  • Easy to use

Although Auraportal is still considered to be one of the little guys, it offers advanced process management and case management capabilities while still being easy to use (so you don’t have to call the IT department for help every five seconds).

The pricing structure of Auraportal is also interesting. Organisations are not required to buy a single BPM solution straight off the bat, but can purchase specific packages as they grow, learn and proceed through the setup of their BPM system.

AuraPortal Helium is capable of running simple projects to large scale ones with integrated management of a whole company. It also contains a single system for cases, processes, project management, web content, collaboration and rules which relative novices can navigate more easily.

Possible Limitations

Although it’s a relatively easy to use system in part, there are also complex features that may prove a bridge too far unless you have some technical knowledge. It is also perhaps not as advanced as certain other BPM suppliers when it comes to its CRM solutions and integrating with other applications.
